24 patients with parkinsonism received intracerebral autotransplantation of adrenal. Follow-up for 1-4 years showed that the long-term effectiveness was 70.8%, and the substantial effectiveness 41.7%. The patients with no improvement or deterioration after some improvement comprised 20.8%. The operative mortality rate was 8.3%. Possible factors influencing the effectiveness were analysed, and how to improve the survival rate of the implanted chromaffin cells was also discussed.
