Objective: To explore the biological characteristics of human endometrial carcinoma cell line-1 (HECCL-1). Methods: The drug resistance gene, apoptosis relative gene and cell DNA cycle were detected by the flow cytometry (FCM). The surviving fraction after irradiation using 6MV X-ray at the different doses was determined by MTT assay. The radiobiological indices were calculated and campared to HeLa cell line. Results: The expressions of drug resistance gene and apoptosis relative gene were all negative. The cell cycle at G0/G1 phase was 88.63%, 6.74% at G2/M phase, and 4.63% at S phase. HECCL-1 cells could form tumor and metastasize to the liver in nude mice. HECCL-1 cell line was radiosensitive, and the population doubling time was significant different between pre-and post-irradiation, P < 0.01. Conclusion: The results of the present study on HECCL-1 cell line are helpful in the treatment of human endometrial carcinoma.
