A CENTURY IS quite a short time in the history of humankind, but there have been significant happenings in the field of neurosurgery in China during the past century. We review the history of the founding and development of neurosurgery in China. We record these events faithfully, and we also dedicate this article to those pioneers, including Song-Tao Guan, Yi-Cheng Zhao, and others, who devoted their lives to neurosurgery in China.
