A text information extraction strategy is described. The knowledge has been expressed formally using Ontology and Extenics Theory. Diagnostic report texts have been transformed into structured and semi-structured information under the control of knowledge base. The strategy makes use of both the preciseness of Ontology and the flexibility of Extenics. Result of experiment shows that the strategy is feasible.
